Among the novelties that Suzuki prepares for 2020 are those that it has been announcing regarding its ‘cruiser’ line. The Japanese firm is about to re-stage three of its references in its cruise line: Boulevard C50, C50T and M109R. But let's not throw the bells on the fly, because the models will be practically the same ones that he had been producing with only one novelty: the painting. New, quite attractive new color schemes are expected.
On the one hand, the classic C50, with its famous spokes wheels and a V-Twin of 805 cc liquid-cooled, will present two new color schemes, including Candy Daring Red and Glass Sparkle Black.
On the other, the great C50T cruise will offer the Metallic Oort Gray paint scheme, with renewed graphics in the tank. Classic windshield, backrest for the passenger, seats and saddlebags with tacks, comfortable and colorful.
And finally, the robust and muscular Suzuki Boulevard M1019R BOSS will land on the market offering two completely new paint options: Pearl Glacier White / Glass Sparkle Black or Metallic Oort Gray / Glass Sparkle Black. Its name BOSS (Blacked Out Special Suzuki) adds a series of dark-finished components, in addition to a clear light in the rear area.
But if there is a truly awaited cruiser model among the launches of Suzuki in Spain, it is the new Intruder 2020, a motorcycle of modern and impressive design, designed to combine road trips and city trips. It is already available in Latin American countries, but the brand is still thought of including it in the Spanish market.
With it, Suzuki pursues a greater presence in the urban scene without giving up its sporting features that characterize the brand. Despite being the smallest of the range, it is a motorcycle with a great presence, which suggests a greater cubic capacity than it actually has. And beyond its modern appearance, with a bulky wraparound fairing, the most interesting is its manageability, coupled with its low consumption.
The Intruder 2020 is powered by a 155 cc single cylinder engine, air cooled and a power of 14 hp. In its attractive image, the large volume of its 11-liter fuel tank stands out, which gives this machine a very interesting autonomy: between 350 and 450 km.
The excellent engine response is given by the incorporation of the Suzuki Eco Performance system, a set of new technologies in pursuit of more efficient driving, superior acceleration and cleaner emissions.
It should also be noted that it has electronic fuel injection, so that it only consumes the adequate, improving the performance of the motorcycle. As well as with a cooling system that distributes lubricant at the base of the piston, which is where a higher temperature is reached, contributing to cool the engine more efficiently.
The design of the front of the motorcycle, with a halogen headlight supported by LED lighting, looks quite worked. It is shielded by a robust fairing, but with elegant lines, and in the final part, the body of the motorcycle is refined until it ends in a low and narrow tail. In its muscular design, it also highlights its colorful dual output exhaust.
Its nothing exorbitant weight, 148 kg, allows great maneuverability on a day-to-day basis, as well as safety and poise in long journeys with marked curves.
Both the low seat, as the forward footrests and the handlebar located at medium height, provide great comfort in driving the pilot. And also for the companion the position of the legs is comfortable and relaxed.
Security is another strong point. This contributes to the fact that it has an ABS braking system, avoiding the blocking of the wheels in any sudden braking. In addition, the suspension is short-distance, with telescopic front and a swing arm with rear shock absorber. With adequate firmness so as not to lose the hardness that is presupposed by its sporting nature.
In sum, an authentic cruiser, with muscular lines and low displacement, comfortable and safe, ideal for both city and road. The only question that awakens is whether we will see it in Spanish dealers.
